Auskick Program 2012
Auskick Registrar: Carolyn Combes
Auskick Co-ordinator: Nick Flavel , M: 0437 141 020
Dear Auskick Players and Parents
Welcome to Auskick Season 2012 at West Coast JFC! Welcome to the club all new players and families and welcome back all those returning.
The season is getting very close! It is fantastic to see so many boys and girls enrolled already. If you have friends who still want to register, it is not too late. Click here for a link to the Registration details on our website.
First Session and Things to Note:
1) The first session will be on Sunday April 29 from 9.00 to 10.00am at the City Beach oval. Auskick is played on the top (northern) oval and for the first session, we will meet in front of the council store room building.
2) The Auskick packs will be available from 8.30am if you would like to come early and collect your pack and have a kick.
3) The first session will be largely a case of introducing coaches and managers and having a kick around with your teams. The real action will start the following week (look for your coach on the top oval for week 2).
4) A very important day on our calendar is at the end of the season on Sunday August 12 when we host the Claremont District Gala Day for teams in Pre-Primary through to Year 2. This is a huge day of footy for all the Auskick players in the Claremont District with a series of matches for all teams. The day is great fun and the club raises funds in hosting the day. However, it takes a team effort to make the day. Please put this date in your diaries and we look forward to your support to make the day happen. Year 3 teams will play at North Beach (further details to follow during the season).
5) This year, the football club has included a pair of club socks for every Auskick player and most importantly, a copy of the words to the club song! Be sure to practise before the season gets underway (to the tune of When the Saints Marching In).
Parents / Coaches Morning
When: 8.00am to 9.30am Sunday 29 April 2012 (yes its early)

The session will run for about an hour and half.

How to Re-Register
Your child’s details are already stored in the database so you do not need to enter them as a new player.
If you played for WCJFC in 2011 click on Re-registration for the correct age group for your child (you can only re-register one child at a time).
Click on I would like to request my username and password and enter your email address. This should be the same email address as you are receiving this information from, because this is the email address stored in the database for your child.
When you click Continue, you will receive an email with all usernames and passwords of players that are assigned to this email address. Please make sure that you have allowed incoming email from www.sportingpulse.com , and check your junk mail for your password reminder. If you do not receive the details for all your children, it is possible that another email address has been used. Either try again, or contact registrar@westcoastjfc.com to determine which email address is used for your child.
Go back to the registration page, choose the re-registration link for your child’s correct age group, and click:
I have played in this club before and have my username and password
and ENTER the user name and password for the player into the correct form for their year group. Your child’s details will automatically come up on screen for you to amend details from last year. Please note it is important to put the correct school year, and fields with a red circle are compulsory.
Once you complete any changes, click CONTINUE and there will be a summary of your information.
The invoice will appear. If you wish to pay online, select Pay Now. This is our preferred method of payment, however, you will have the option to pay in person on the club Registration Open Day on Sunday 26th February. The club will not accept other types of payments after this date, unless arrangements are made with the Registrar.
Note: There is a 3.48% processing fee added to all purchases through all Sporting Pulse online payment system. West Coast Junior Football Club has no control over this processing fee. The processing fee will be added as a separate item on your invoice.
Select Pay with credit or debit card. Fill in the required fields and Pay. Confirmation of payment and invoice will be sent to your email address.
If you are registering more than one child, you will need to return to the registration form page. Enter username and password for this member in the correct year range, check details and press confirm.
If you encounter problems, these tips below may help:
- Start a fresh web browser session when you want to register.
- Close the browser when finished.
- If you are registering more than one child you need to start at the beginning. Do not go back and try to correct something in your first childs registration if you have said you are registering 2 children, as each player has his/her own member details in the Sporting Pulse database.
- Avoid using the BACK button while registering as it will confuse the process.
If you have any queries please contact the Registrar.
February News #1
We hope you have had a fantastic summer and are looking forward to a great AFL season with West Coast Junior Football Club.
Even though the first games are a while away (season starts 29 April), there are a few things we’d like to tell you before 2012 registrations open:
- Online registrations for 2012
- Registration Open Day
- Changes to Year groups
- We are on Facebook
- Mouthguard policy
- Club merchandise
- Positions vacant
Online registrations
This year we are introducing an online re-registration process which means you can re-register your junior player and pay online, all at the same time.
You cannot pay online yet as registrations have not opened, but we will send you a communication similar to this one closer to the time with a link to registration details. In the meantime, we would like to ensure this is the email address you would prefer to receive communications from us and you can advise us if you wish to change any of your details or if you know your child is not playing AFL this year – email Registrar.
And please be patient with us and the new system – there may be some teething problems and we will do our best to rectify them as soon as possible, but please let us know if you encounter any problems.
Registration Open Day
The club Registration Open Day will be held at the clubrooms (City Beach Oval, Fred Burton Drive, City Beach) on Sunday February 26 at 12:00pm-2:00pm. This day is for new player registrations, mouthguard fittings, and existing player re-registrations and payments – unless you have successfully re-registered and paid online, in which case you may not need to attend the Registration Day.
Changes to Year groups
According to the District, all teams will now be qualified as to their school year groups - this change will mostly affect the Yr 8s and up (as last year this was only the case up to Yr 6s). This means, now instead of the 13s there will be a Yr 8 age group, and instead of the 14s there will be a Yr 9 age group, and so on.
Note: the 15s will be called the Yr 10s but will be able to field all players who were eligible last year in the team whether they are in Yr 11 or have been aged back from Yr 11.
West Coast JFC on Facebook
Check out the new West Coast JFC Facebook page. We would like you to LIKE the page so we can gather more followers, and utilise another popular way to communicate with you, and generate interest in our club with results, comments, photos, and postings.
Notes from the Committee
Over the summer your committee has been working hard to progress things on behalf of the club. We will continue to keep you updated throughout the year via this type of communication, the website, our Facebook page, and through team managers.
- Mouthguards – for junior and premiership players it is club policy that mouthguards be worn for all games. Mouthguards can be professionally fitted by fitted by Gobsmacked at the Registration Day or the Club Day event to be held at the clubrooms, Sunday 1st April, 10am-12pm. Mouthguards will be ready for collection 1st April & 23rd April respectively (10% of proceeds are donated to our club).
- Merchandise – a club jacket and cap will be available for purchase this year. More details will be provided at registration.
- Positions needing volunteer help – the committee values as much parent involvement as we can get, so please let us know if you can help out. In particular, we need two positions filled for the 2012 season: a Grounds Manager and a BBQ Manager (to help co-ordinate teams use the BBQ facilities). If you can assist in either, please email President.
For Auskick parents: please consider how you would like to contribute to Auskick at West Coast JFC this year. If you have an interest in coaching or managing a team, please contact Auskick Co-Ordinator Nick Flavel (0437 141 020). - Coaches - Dion Saratsis has been appointed to develop a Club coaching program for Yrs 4 to 12. The club will continue to receive coaching support from Claremont Football Club, with Jack Bradshaw joining our coaching group, and planned skills training sessions for teams from league players
- Major sponsor – thanks for the support of RV Sports which has been retained as the major Club sponsorship for a further two years.
Stay tuned for more information about the coming season (your team manager will be in contact with you soon after Registration Day), and we look forward to seeing you in the mighty red, black, and white in a few months time.
Your West Coast Junior Football Club committee
